Work has formally begun on Worthing's landmark £34 million healthcare centre in the heart of the town.
I was pleased to join with local Councillors and representatives of each of the healthcare partners at the groundbreaking ceremony last week.
The centre will be a state of the art one-stop-shop for residents seeking help with a range of care issues. It will have ample space for doctors, mental health specialists, outpatients, health visitors and a pharmacy, as well as further services for families and children.
The central location, directly behind the Town Hall, will be readily accessible for residents from across the wider Worthing area.
We all share in a desire for a good place to live, a good place to work and for excellent healthcare facilities. We can see our Council working hard for our interests and delivering for Worthing.
The centre is expected to be open to the public by the summer of 2023.
