It was an enjoyable day at Heene Community Fayre as part of the Worthing Festival.
I listened to Councillor Noel Atkins about his work with CAP, Church Action on Poverty. At one of the stalls, I obtained Joanna Lumley’s stimulating memoir based on items in the rooms of her house.
I was not so lucky this year having not picked up one of the many winning raffle tickets on the day. In previous years I have been far luckier.
The team at Heene Community Centre must be congratulated. Every month of the year is packed with events, activities and opportunities for the community to come together. No summer is complete without enjoying the Summer Fayre.
Volunteers, like those behind our local fayres, go above and beyond often with little to no desire for recognition and work hard to bring together a community in a way no one else would be able to accomplish.
