On #ArmedForcesDay, I was pleased to join Cllr Lt Cdr Noël Atkins at Worthing’s celebration at The Steyne.
They represent the best of our community, and this was our chance to tell them thank you.
Our Armed Forces risk their lives to protect and defend our freedom every day of every year.
A great deal of their most valuable work goes unseen.
The annual celebration seeks to honour the service of our armed personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force past and present as well as their families. They have been pivotal in standing up against aggression, protecting peace and defending human rights across the world.
Back home we can also recognise the leading role armed forces personnel played throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. From manning testing stations to giving up their personal weekends and leave to bolster the NHS during the rolling out of much-needed vaccines, our armed forces were there on the frontline in the fight against COVID-19.
Let us come together on #ArmedForcesDay to thank every soldier, sailor and aviator, and their families, here in Worthing and Arun, and across the world, who represent the very best of our nation.
