Over the bank holiday weekend, I was pleased to attend the Worthing Carnival, organised by Rotary Club of Worthing and Highdown Rotary.
Due to Covid19, there was no parade this year. Other usual festivities continued with a great reception.
Even without the parade, it was clear that everyone enjoyed participating. There were performers, local activity groups and charities with stalls; Turning Tides Ending Local Homelessness and Sussex Police were two such organisations many will have been pleased to see.
When I visited on Sunday, there were countless families with smiles on the faces of people of all ages. The weather was great too: reliably, #SunnySummerWorthing.
We can look forward to next year's carnival in the year of Worthing Rotary's centenary celebrations. We hope that it will include the return of the much loved parade.
Thank you to all involved.
