It was a pleasure to join local Cllr Dan Coxhill and Cllr Russ Cochran, alongside members of the board to watch Worthing FC's stunning match this afternoon.
I congratulate the Mackerels for holding onto their lead against Potters Bar Town FC.
The club's continuing success is welcomed across the town and the district. I was pleased to be welcomed to the grounds and for the opportunity to watch the game with supporters young and old.
Everyone knows that George Dowell has made a great contribution to the club since he became the majority shareholder in 2015.
Whilst it was unfortunate that the pressure to rightfully promote Worthing FC’s Men’s Team was not successful even after two years as division leads, we rest assured this season will present the same opportunity.
We have shared in great pride in seeing Worthing Football Club go from strength to strength over the last few years even in the face of a difficult two seasons marred by the pandemic. We look forward to the future.
