I was pleased to attend St Oscar Romero Catholic School's prize evening earlier this month at the Pavilion Theatre.
I congratulate the many students who received awards.
Our local schools across Worthing and Arun, primary through post-16, are helping to develop a new generation of inquisitive minds, impressive ambitions and industrious skillsets.
Also in attendance was Dr Julian Filochowski chair of the Romero Trust, with whom I travelled to San Salvador first to meet him then to represent the British Council of Churches at his funeral after he had been assassinated.
The impression I gained is that the school and its community goes from strength to strength. This is thanks to the enthusiasm of the students and the care and confidence of the staff, together with the support of the local community. Peter Byrne, the Headteacher, should be proud of the school's achievements.
