My team, family and I wish each and all a happy New Year, with best wishes to your family, friends and neighbours.
I have just dispatched my annual E-Newsletter which looks back on 2023, reviewing the positives in local and national campaigns and looking forward at our ambitions for the coming year.
As one year is followed by the next, we can share in appreciating good people doing good things. They always have and they always will. Most people do more than satisfy curiosity about why life is the way it is; they put in positive efforts to make a difference.
Events across the world in the past year have caused concern and worry. They continue as we go into 2024.
We know that it will be a difficult winter in Ukraine and the Middle East.
The toughest time has been dealing with strife, conflict and misery brought on by horrific actions in Ukraine, in Israel, now in Gaza too, and in the legacies of Afghanistan, Syria and Libya.
The cost of living remains a challenge for many at home, too.
Circumstances may appear unsolvable. Sometimes seemingly impossible issues can be solved. We do what we can and go on with good intent and determination to improve lives and reduce difficulties.
I share in the greatest of hopes that we can have a positive New Year.
