When a big company makes what they believe to be a minor change to what they sell or provide, small communities can be overlooked in how they are adversely impacted.
In August, last year, constituents who own vintage campervans and motorhomes were in touch with grave concerns about Calor Gas's decision to permanently remove the smaller sizes of 3.9kg Propane and the 4.5kg Butane that such campervan and motorhome owners rely on.
No other options are available and an entire community of campervan enthusiasts and motorhome residents would have been forced to scrap their beloved vehicles and way of life.
I took this up immediately with the senior leadership team of Calor Gas and expressed great concern for the lack of foresight in this action, requesting that they respond with an action plan of how they will resolve the pending issue.
Thanks to heavy lobbying from owners and residents, with support from colleagues across the House, I am pleased to share the good news that Calor Gas have announced a u-turn in their decision to remove the smaller containers of both Propane and Butane gas cylinders.
