Community groups gathered at Ferring Village Hall to support fundraising efforts to improve the appearance and accessibility at the hall.
I contributed to the Ferring Cricket Club of which I am now pleased to be Vice-President. Also in attendance were representatives from Ferring Parish Council, the Ferring Conservation Group and the local Conservative Policy Forum.
During the friendly gathering, I updated residents on the concerted effort to protect the Goring-Ferring Gap at Chatsmore Farm, including the hard work of Ferring’s local Conservative Councillors Roger Elkins and Mark Turner MBE.
Like many of our local Councillors and community champions, they have cool heads and kind hearts when it matters most, and care deeply about the community they represent.
There are many issues on the minds of local residents - local planning and environmental protection, support for the elderly and keeping our streets safe.
On the back of several constituents getting in touch, including at Ferring Village Hall, I have been in urgent contact with the Highways Team at West Sussex County Council with serious concerns about flooding in Ferring Village.
I have asked for an immediate response regarding what actions are underway to, once again, alleviate the problems here and have asked for attention to how to prevent this from continuing as an annual issue.
