Tennis is bouncing back in Worthing West.
The LTA - Tennis For Britain and the Government have awarded a total of £253,000 to be invested across Adur and Worthing as part of the joint Park Tennis Project.
The Park Tennis Project aims to bring park tennis courts across Great Britain in poor or unplayable states back to life for the benefit of local communities. These renewed courts will provide opportunities for children and adults to get active, and deliver significant physical and mental health and wellbeing benefits to residents.
A substantial portion of this funding will go to renovating the tennis courts at Church House Grounds in Tarring.
Residents will share in welcoming this news.
Tennis is a great sport to keep active and have fun. I'm more used to the 'ping-pong'ing of legislation here in Parliament but enjoy a good game of tennis when not out and about with constituents or working busily in Westminster.
I intend to be out on the new courts with local athletes and amateur enthusiasts for a more positive rally as soon as the works are complete.
