Today is #WorldBookDay!
Parents reading around and with their children can have a dramatic and lasting effect on their children's wellbeing and development.
World Book Day is not just for children. Adults can and should read too.
A book is a welcome escape not only from the stresses of everyday life but from the stress on the eyes of everyday work and recreation.
Almost every wall in my home and in my office has a bookcase on it, much to the annoyance of my loving wife who doesn't love the clutter. I read for fun, for learning and for inspiration.
Today, on #WorldBookDay, I would like to recognise the work of local (and world-leading) business, Wob. They are based in Goring-by-Sea.
The focus of their work is recycling and reusing second-hand books. With humble roots here in Worthing and in the UK, they are now worldwide with a presence on almost every continent.
They have also donated over 100,000 books over recent years with BookCycle, delivering books to countries across the country. We share in recognising that pre-loved books deserve to be loved once again.
Thank you to World Book Day (UK & Ireland) for championing the power of a good book.
