For International Women’s Day I join the Royal Legion in paying tribute to their service.
The 2021 Census told us that 514 women living in Worthing West were Armed Forces veterans.
Women make a significant contribution to our Forces, protecting our way of life.
Over the last two decades, women have taken on more and more jobs in the British Army. Since 2018, all Army roles have been open to them and gender parity in our armed forces has been progressing since.
Women still work hard to overcome male prejudice and stigma. We support them, we stand by them, we share in the necessary work.
The positive contributions made by women in peacekeeping efforts across the world help to spread respect of gender equality.
