Parliament breaks for Easter recess this week. Activities in Worthing, Arun and Westminster, outside of the chamber, continue.
Over the weekend, I joined with local Councillors and campaigners in dodging the hail showers and harsh wind to deliver Worthing Conservatives' positive message of financial stability and safer streets to residents across Worthing.
Meeting with Katy Bourne, Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex, we discussed work to improve policing in Worthing and efforts to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour. Recent cuts to Worthing Borough Council's contribution to her funds are unconstructive and risk safety in our communities. I praised her efforts to be engaged and active in our local areas. She has always responded quickly and effectively when my team and I have needed to involve her.
Active discussions this week include holding local developers and managing agents to account over resident concerns and complaints. Planning matters to do with Chris Dixon's flagrant attempt to shoehorn in houses on the South Goring Gap will come in front of the licensing sub-committee at Worthing Borough Council where I anticipate I will be speaking on behalf of residents and community members.
Amongst important business and local work, I wish everyone marking the important date in the Christian and common calendar a faithful and joyous Easter.
