I was in urgent contact with the Highways Team at West Sussex County Council with serious concerns about flooding in Ferring Village after local constituents alerted my team and I to worrying water levels on the roadside.
I requested an immediate response regarding what actions are underway to alleviate the problems here and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
Such severe flooding impacts drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. Residents and school pupils are unable to safely cross and drivers are endangered by the hidden potholes that we have already made them aware of.
We acknowledge those who look with cheery resolve at this newly dubbed 'Ferring Ford'. We recognise the need for urgent action to resolve this.
The severe weather will have similar impacts across other areas of Worthing and Arun. The first point of contact for concerns should be your local Councillor but my team and I stand ready to assist when necessary and when helpful.
