I met with members of the Rustington Residents Association to discuss the need for a pedestrian crossing on Station Road outside of Rustington Hall.
It is clear that walkers, from the very old to the young children going to and from school, will benefit by having a pedestrian crossing where they have priority.
When I was with local residents, a number of drivers volunteered to stop. We want to extend that so that all 'would' stop, allowing safe passage across the busy road.
People live on one side and go to school or church on the other. The right place is outside Rustington Hall which provides home and services to many people who deserve the highest standards of safety.
I applaud the work of Peter Cavell, Chairman of the Rustington Residents Association, and members, alongside Sally Morris of Rustington Hall, who have worked hard to organise a petition for a crossing.
