It was a sunny weekend in Worthing with plenty of warmth in the air and on the doorsteps in Goring-by-Sea.
I was pleased to be out with Cllr Kevin Jenkins and local West Worthing Conservatives activists speaking to residents and community members about the issues and concerns important to them.
Residents shared in gratitude for the hard work of Cllr Jenkins and the proactive cooperation between MP and Cllr in defending Goring Gap and Chatsmore Farm from Persimmon's unwanted large-scale development plans.
They also praised the speed at which Cllr Jenkins and my team took up concerns about local illegal caravanning encampments on Goring Greensward. In close cooperation with residents and the police, concerns were raised swiftly and the group were moved on sooner than a court order would have achieved.
The Labour-Council's new 'relaxed approach' of providing refuse bins ad 24/7 access to the toilets, whilst keeping the site more sanitary, did not help in moving the group on.
