I met with representatives of the District Councils’ Network at their annual event in Parliament.
From helping to address homelessness, providing housing advice and support, ensuring new homes are built for the community, collecting waste, delivering sport and leisure facilities to maintaining parks and green spaces, district councils provide vital services to residents every day.
Our local Councils know that they have my support and my confidence as they work hard to represent and serve our local communities.
I welcome the ongoing opportunity to discuss pressing concerns, including how we might better support our Councils and Councillors, in improving the lives of constituents and communities.
